Its been a busy and eventful last few weeks.

My beloved friends Lavonne and Geoff came to visit us and of course we made the most of keeping busy bashing around London seeing all the sights such as the London Eye (as seen in the photo above), having afternoon Tea at Kensington Palace and just plain wandering and shopping.

We also ventured into the countryside in a little rental car which Geoff drove through a ford/creek after checking out Oxford and all its educational sights! We found ourselves in the middle of nowhere in a little town I can't remember the name of now, but we joined in the Guy Fox day festivities at a local Catholic school where they had a massive bon fire and a pretty amazing fireworks show. We then ventured farther (in the dark of the night down English country roads) to see some thatched roofs and have some dinner in a 600 year old pub!

All of this and not to mention our small venture for 3 days to Barcelona on top of it all! Its been some of the best fun I've had in a while. There's nothing like exploring and enjoying oneself with the people you care about most.

After Geoff and Lavonne took off for Canada our good Aussie friend and flatmate Melissa, moved in to sleep on our floor for the week as she officially "moved out" of the house (her room) on route to a journey moving back to Australia. We have spent the last week helping celebrate with other friends to see her off and it is with a great sadness I will say goodbye to her tomorrow (actually today as I am writing this at 2am and can't sleep). Melissa has been a cherished friend to me here in London since she moved into our house, what with her humor and good sense of banter and also being a fellow health care worker. I will forever have fond memories of us knitting together while watching Downton Abbey and chatting away. I have enjoyed her company immensely and will miss her when she is gone.
