Above is a photo we took at Camden Market a few weekends back now. The "bikes" people are sitting on are not actually bikes at all, but seats at tables overlooking a water damn. There are tons of them and they are quite hilarious. Rick and I spent one Sunday afternoon walking around the market, getting some fresh air and checking out all the funky things there and taking some photos.

So where am I at right now? Well its been about a month since we were home in Canada for Christmas. London felt more like home to me coming back to it after taking a break for a couple of weeks. I love London more now then I ever have, but still not as much as the great alpine Canada! Shame I know. I'm so biased. All my friends here claim they've never met such a patriotic Canadian such as me. I think I probably spend too much time telling people why Canada is so great! Who knows, maybe one day when I'm back in Canada I'll spend all my time telling Canadians why London is the best (You know the grass is always greener on the other side).

My Grandma died a couple of weeks ago now and that's been pretty tough to accept. I knew when I saw her at Christmas that it was probably the last time I would see her before she died and I knew that it was inevitable. However, I don't know if my heart still truly accepts the reality of it because I am over here in England and I haven't properly said goodbye. I got to talk to her over the phone while she was in hospital the night before she passed and it was really good to have the opportunity to say goodbye that way, but it just doesn't feel like she's gone yet. I know I'm really really going to miss her when I go back home and she's not there. For those of you who haven't heard, she was 87 and lived a fantastic long and happy life. She recently developed a lump in her lung and after a biopsy, we found out that it was cancerous. Good old Grandma decided to forgo the treatment being so elderly and live the rest of her life happily around family and friends, which she did with zest. Up until the day before she died and went into the hospital, she remained at home and went for a walk every day. She had weakened but that didn't stop her. When I saw her at Christmas she was still knitting hats for everyone and taking photos. Grandma is my hero.

Rick and I have not been very good at going to Church since we've moved over here. We checked out a few places for a bit and then the little bit of vigor we had wore off. Instead we've been using the day to relax, hang out with friends, or check out cool places in London if we didn't travel somewhere else. Sometimes I really miss church and sometimes I don't. I think we've decided that for the short period of time we are here its just too frustrating to try and find a consistent church community to put effort into when we will eventually just leave (as awful as that sounds). Instead I think we will be what I like to term "tourist churchers" - going to places like St. Pauls and getting good exposure to places and churches we don't have in Canada. Once we have attended St. Paul's I will tell you what its like. I hear its amazing! This is my solution to really missing being in the church atmosphere but not having to deal with the drama. I know, its kind of cheap.

:) It is good to read about your life over there! Canada misses you, but London has you for now, so I hope you enjoy the time while you're there! Definitely enjoy the different churches around, find God outdoors/in solitude/over coffee, etc. It'll be good for you.
